Thanks to Bitmoji, I, too, can become a globe-trotting, treasure-seeking … um… archeologist? Well, not the archeologist part, for that I’d have to get a college degree. Bitmoji doesn’t have that kind of pixie magic dust.

I saw Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny this weekend. In the actual theater. Be warned, this blog contains some spoilers, so if you haven’t seen the movie and want to be surprised, do not read on.

It was proper to see the latest installment of the franchise in the theater. I mean, I saw the first one in the theater, and the subsequent ones as well. I haven’t seen the inside of a movie theater in quite a while before COVID — in since 2018! I don’t regret going now, but it’s going to be a long time until I go again. There’s something about getting comfy at home, stopping the movie and using the bathroom whenever you want, and getting the food you like (as opposed to salty, stale popcorn), that is simply more appealing now.

No, our TV set is not humongous nor do we have a “home theater” setup. But then, our couch is comfortable, the ‘fridge is nearby, and we don’t have to hear other people’s comments.

And, we can feel free to have all the feels — I’m not ashamed to say that I cried because this was the end of the era for me, personally. And yes, it felt ridiculously personal. Not only to me, I am pretty sure this felt personal to many. Yes, we were along for the ride, but we were also in the ride, participants as well as witnesses. We were alongside Indiana Jones and we also were Indiana Jones. Oh, and let’s not forget, every time a Nazi died, it was time to cheer. I…
