Dear Andi,

I’m sure it was a mortifying & awkward experience, but I laughed my way through the entire article. In part because I can so relate, but mostly because it was funny. 😜

My mother “socialized” me when I was but a wee bairn, because I had no need of other people once I learned to read: she forced me to go play with others, searching me for a book when I went to birthday parties, making me go sit with others when we went to synagogue, etc.

I still dont think of myself as a social creature. At best I am a-social — I’ll talk to people who wander into my orbit, but will not actively seek them out. It might have to do with me being on the spectrum — the psychopathy one. Except that I choose to feel empathy for others & refuse to use people. But if my mother hadn’t bothered… I could have easily become a serial killer. Too easily…

I digress. Though I still think this would have been a much healthier & better planet without people.
