Dear Steven,

I think Ms. Hocking’s success is tremendous, I do not begrudge her at all. However, that is not my path, at least not by choice. I mean, I understand the appeal of self publishing, I really do, but…

Ever since I was 12 years old, I had a dream. Now, of course, it is more in the realm of a fairy tale, but it doesn’t matter to me one bit — I want to be published by a publishing house.

I might never achieve my dream. I will never become a millionaire. I might not even make a decent living as a published writer. But I will go to my grave trying.

I wish all writers well in their pursuits, be it self-publishing or otherwise. My path is set.
