Healing body, shriveled soul

It has been two weeks since I had my left hip replaced, and I am making progress. I went from walker to a two-cane method, to a one-cane method, mostly for extra balance and getting up-stairs. One goal was to go from walker to cane by Thanksgiving, and I made it. The combination of a crowded house and my pride said, “There is no way in hell you’re going to use a walker at the Thanksgiving get-together.”
