I really like the part of “do life together.” That’s what life is, a verb. It’s work, it’s messy & smells much more like dirty laundry than a bed of roses, but it’s a beloved scratchy LP & an old, worn but still-soft fuzzy socks that you dance in that makes it good. I’m far from a romantic — for me romance is changing light bulbs & paying bills, but I believe love is real, it exists as much as trees & oxygen exist & it’s worth longing for & waiting for & not-giving-up hope for. (Sorry for ending the sentence with a preposition.) 🔮
