Coming home from the grocery store today, I’ve created a new word: navigotiate. It’s a combination of navigate plus negotiate.

I was going through a couple of fairly narrow, steeply curving side-streets, and they had cars parked all along them, tightly packed in. So, not only was I watching out for any of these cars pulling out or opening a door, I was especially watchful for any child running out from the apartment buildings into the street between these cars. It is, of course, the greatest worry and would be the greatest nightmare of every driver — to hit a child. Therefore, I crawl…
