Twenty-two years have passed. The ache has definitely dulled around the edges, like a sword that is no longer sharp nor shiny. Yet it’s still there, my grief, my husband’s grief, on every November 3rd, as if light bends around that day in 1999, when our daughter, Ruthie, was stillborn.
